Hello, all readers. Today we would like to write about Khmer new year activities for who are interested in Khmer culture in Cambodia. Khmer people celebrate their new year in 14/15/16 April after they harvested. It is our public holiday and also the biggest celebration that almost all people have to go back to their hometown meet their family. Generally, during Khmer new year it is always quiet in the city but it is crowded in the countryside as well as people do not want to get a job in that time. Here are some activities we want you to read more about Khmer new year day: On the first day, we take some food to offer the monks at the pagodas. We build a sandy mountain. On the second day, we give some new clothes and money to our parents and grandparents. In the morning of the third day, we take food to the pagoda and invite the monks to the sandy mountain to dedicate these sins to the spirits of the ancestors. And in the evening, we bath the Buddha statues. During the third day, we also play the traditional games and dance together.
